Your control: You may delete any stored book content at any time through your account settings or by contacting support@ExcerptsAI.com. Upon deletion, the content and all associated excerpts will be permanently removed within 30 days.

What we don't do: We do not share your stored content with third parties except as necessary to provide the Service (e.g., AI processing for summarization). We do not use your content to train AI models.

2.3 Generated Content

We store the following generated content associated with your account:

• AI-generated text summaries (excerpts)
• Audio files generated from your excerpts
• Excerpt metadata (title, creation date, settings used)
• Key points and quotes extracted during summarization

2.4 Usage Information

We automatically collect:

• Device information (browser type, operating system)
• IP address
• Pages visited and features used
• Listening history and playback data
• Error logs and performance data

2.5 Payment Information

Payment processing is handled by Polar.sh. We do not directly collect or store your credit card numbers or bank account details. We receive only transaction confirmations and subscription status from Polar.sh.

• Process your uploaded content and generate excerpts

4. AI Processing and Third-Party Services

4.1 How AI Processing Works

When you upload an ebook, your content is processed as follows:

1. Content is extracted from your uploaded file
2. The original uploaded file is deleted
3. The extracted content is stored securely and sent to our AI provider for summarization
4. The summary is sent to our text-to-speech provider for audio generation
5. The generated excerpt and audio are stored alongside the book content

4.2 Third-Party Service Providers

We use the following third-party services to operate ExcerptsAI:

• Supabase: Database and authentication hosting
• OpenAI / AI Provider: Content summarization
• Text-to-Speech Provider: Audio generation
• Polar.sh: Payment processing
• Vercel: Website hosting
• Google: Authentication (optional)

4.3 AI Training

We do not use your uploaded content or generated excerpts to train AI models. Your content is processed solely for the purpose of generating your personal excerpts and enabling related features.

5. Data Storage and Retention

5.1 Where We Store Data

Your data is stored on secure servers provided by Supabase and Vercel. These services maintain data centers with industry-standard security measures.

5.2 Retention Periods

• Original uploaded files (PDF/EPUB): Deleted immediately after content extraction
• Stored book content: Retained while your account is active or until you delete it
• Generated excerpts and audio: Retained while your account is active
• Account information: Retained while your account is active
• Usage logs: Retained for 90 days
• Payment records: Retained as required by law (typically 7 years)

5.3 Content Deletion

You may delete individual books and their associated excerpts at any time from your library. When you delete a book:

• The stored content is permanently deleted
• All associated excerpts and audio files are permanently deleted
• This action cannot be undone

5.4 Account Deletion

You may request deletion of your entire account and all associated data at any time by contacting support@ExcerptsAI.com. Upon account deletion, we will remove your personal information, stored content, and generated excerpts within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:
